Avoda

Avoda

Avoda is a two-sided hiring platform designed to connect frontline job seekers and employers directly—without staffing agencies or middlemen.
The goal was to make hiring faster, simpler, and more human using swipe-based matching, clear hiring stages, and low-friction onboarding.

ROLE

UI/UX Designer

PROBLEM

Frontline hiring today suffers from:

  • ❌ Heavy dependency on staffing agencies

  • ❌ Slow, manual screening processes

  • ❌ Poor visibility of hiring status for employers

  • ❌ Complicated, form-heavy onboarding for job seekers

Both sides lack speed, clarity, and control.

SOLUTIONS

Design a mobile-first MVP that:

  • Enables direct hiring

  • Reduces onboarding time to under 2–3 minutes

  • Uses swipe interactions for faster discovery

  • Clearly communicates hiring stages from match → hire

GOALS AND CHALLENGES

🎯 Goals

  • Design a fast, low-friction MVP for frontline hiring

  • Enable direct hiring without staffing agencies

  • Reduce onboarding time for both users

  • Provide clear visibility of hiring stages

  • Keep the experience simple, scalable, and mobile-first

⚠️ Challenges

  • Balancing speed with essential data collection

  • Designing two user journeys within a tight timeline

  • Avoiding complex forms in onboarding

  • Ensuring interview flow reflects real HR processes

  • Preventing feature overload in an MVP

PROCESS

  1. Defined the problem and MVP scope

  2. Mapped end-to-end candidate and employer flows

  3. Prioritized features based on speed and usability

  4. Designed low-friction onboarding experiences

  5. Created wireframes and high-fidelity UI

  6. Validated flows to ensure real-world hiring logic

RESULTS

  • Onboarding completion rate

  • Time to first swipe / first candidate view

  • Match-to-interview conversion

  • Interview-to-offer conversion

  • Task success rate

  • Key drop-off points
